Meet TUTSA

Potential is everywhere.
Let’s make room for it.

Behind every learner is a person with their own questions, strengths and way of seeing the world. Finding support should start there.

Our purpose

Make the connection.
Let learning happen.

Built around people

A simpler way
to find support.

TUTSA brings independent tutors and South African families together in one searchable directory.

We give tutors a place to share what they teach, how they work and where they’re available. Families can explore their options and make contact directly, without creating an account.

The relationship belongs to you and your tutor. Lessons, rates, schedules and payments are agreed together.

How the connection works ↗
What matters here
01

Choice stays with you.

Explore tutors at your own pace and decide who feels right for your learner.

02

Teaching stays independent.

Tutors set their own hours and rates. TUTSA takes no commission on lessons.

03

Trust starts with clarity.

Clear profiles and carefully explained document checks help you ask informed questions.

Why this connection matters

Good support should
be easier to discover.

A recommendation can be a helpful beginning. A clear, searchable profile gives families another way to explore who teaches the subject, where they work and how to make contact.

FOR FAMILIES

Less guesswork before the first hello.

Finding a tutor involves more than finding a name. A family needs to know about the curriculum, grade, location, language and lesson format. They also need to understand the tutor’s rates and approach before deciding whether to get in touch.

TUTSA brings those details into a directory designed around the questions families actually have. You can explore profiles at your own pace and choose who to contact without creating an account.

FOR TUTORS

A place to explain what you do.

Independent tutors need room to introduce their teaching properly. A short advert rarely captures the subjects they know, the stages they support or the way they work with learners.

A TUTSA profile brings that introduction together. It gives families a starting point for a conversation while leaving the tutor in control of their own practice, rates, hours and lesson arrangements.

Clear roles. Direct relationships.

How we fit into
the learning journey.

Our role is to help people find each other and make an informed introduction. The lesson relationship is agreed between the family and the tutor.

The directory

TUTSA organises tutor profiles by subject, grade, curriculum, language and area. Families can also consider online or in-person lessons and the rates tutors publish. Profiles are introductions to independent services, with details provided by the tutors themselves.

The introduction

A profile enquiry reaches the selected tutor, who replies directly. Some tutors offer an introductory call, which can be requested where the option appears. TUTSA does not automatically assign a tutor or confirm a place in their diary.

The document review

Verification badges describe checks of identity and qualification documents. They provide information about paperwork, rather than a ranking or assessment of teaching. Families should still ask questions, check references and decide what is appropriate for their learner.

The lessons

Tutors run their own practices. They agree the lesson content, schedule, fees and payment arrangements with families. TUTSA does not employ the tutors, provide the lessons itself or guarantee availability or academic outcomes.

Independent teaching, supported by a simple model

Your teaching.
Your relationships.
Your earnings.

The directory is free for families to browse and enquire. Tutors pay a flat listing membership, with no commission deducted from lesson earnings. The membership is separate from the fees a tutor agrees with a family.

That distinction keeps the arrangement understandable: TUTSA provides a place to be found, and the tutor and family shape the learning relationship together.

Before a new profile is published

A considered
introduction.

Registration is a guided process that gathers the details a family will want to understand. A submitted profile begins as a draft for the team to review.

  1. The tutor tells their story

Subjects, grades, curricula and languages sit alongside an introduction, experience, lesson rates, location and availability. Accurate information makes the profile more useful to the people reading it.

  2. The team reviews the details

The tutor provides qualification information during registration. Identity and qualification document verification is arranged separately with the TUTSA team, with the meaning of the badge explained publicly.

  3. Families can discover the profile

Once the profile is published, families can find it in the directory and make contact. The tutor remains responsible for keeping information accurate and discussing current availability with each enquiry.
